SHERWIN SLOAN - a great friend

Sherwin passed today after a valiant struggle. We fondly recall our first visit with Sherwin in Santa Fe,
together with Desirée Mays and Pieter Hull, in July 2003 when we started our collaboration.
He became our principal tour host and opened doors for us throughout the opera world. Many
happy travelers enjoyed trips to the major houses and festivals and will treasure the times spent in his company.
Sherwin followed his passion and his style was unique, a combination of the essentials of tour management with
memorable artists' parties and dinners laced with his own blend of anecdotes and stories from the world of opera.
It has been a privilege to have known and worked with Sherwin and we miss him. Our heartfelt condolences go
out to Robert and to Sherwin's family.
A memorial will be held at 5:15 p.m. June 13 on the fifth floor of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, 135 N. Grand Ave., Los Angeles.
